Between Two Social Networking

Nowadays, in this globalization era people can communicate with other people without meeting face to face. One of the ways is by using available social networking. Social networking is the grouping of individuals into specific groups that function is to share and keep in touch with other people without meeting face to face by using online lines. Twitter and facebook are two of the most popular social networking sites on the internet. The purpose of this essay is to contrast the differences between twitter and facebook. The three main differences from twitter and facebook are in the terms of system, communities, and revenue.
Comparing both types of social networks the writer notice first difference. There is a system to start communicate both of them. In twitter use the follow system. If people follow someone but they don’t follow back, we can still put their updates in our timeline, unless they protect their updates. In contrast, facebook requires two-way verification system for full sharing between two people. If someone doesn’t accept our friend request, we can’t see what they are up to. On facebook, most of people use default strong privacy settings. So both of them have a difference system to start communicate.
The second difference between twitter and facebook is their communities. They have different communities. Most of the twitter users are on facebook, but most of the facebook users are not on twitter. It can be seen from the total users on facebook up to 500 million users and on twitter just 106 million (Facebook vs Twitter Infographic 2010). There are a lot of more famous people who use the twitter service than facebook. The famous people on twitter are movie stars; they use it to gain even more popularity. However, facebook users are the social people who just use facebook to share or communicate with their friends. So the facebook communities higher than twitter.
The final difference is the biggest difference between twitter and facebook. This is about revenue that CEO of facebook Mark Zuckerberg and CEO of twitter Jack Dorsey get. Dorsey gets $5 per twitter tweet and $2 per twitter follow. In contrast, Zuckerberg gets loyalty $14 per facebook shares and $8 per facebook likes. Because this is revenue Mark Zuckerberg become the richest young people with net worth up to US$ 1,5billion (Forbes Magazine). We can imagine how revenue that they get from users of twitter and facebook. So, due to value that we give is not least we can use twitter or facebook wisely.
In conclusion, there are some differences between twitter and facebook. It does not matter what social networking to choose for communicate. Each of them has its value. It depends on what people are trying to accomplish in a given situation. The important thing is we can use facebook or twitter wisely still to keep in touch or share about anything with other peoples and friends without face to face.
